Quail Creek Golf
27 Holes of Championship Play
Golf has long been an important part of the Quail Creek lifestyle. Winding through the community against the backdrop of the Santa Rita Mountains, Quail Creek’s 27 holes of championship golf provide residents with three distinct nine-hole courses, beautiful desert scenery, and plenty of opportunities for both recreational and competitive play.
Designed by noted golf course architect Ken Kavanaugh, the course is challenging enough to keep experienced golfers interested while remaining enjoyable and approachable for players of varying skill levels.
Three Distinct Courses
Quail Creek Golf Club features three nine-hole courses: Quail, Coyote, and Roadrunner. With three possible 18-hole combinations, golfers can enjoy greater variety than they would typically find with a traditional 18-hole course.
Each nine winds through a different portion of the community, incorporating changes in elevation, strategically placed bunkers, water features, desert landscaping, and expansive views of the surrounding mountains and open spaces. Multiple teeing options allow golfers to select a distance appropriate for their game.
The result is a course that can be enjoyed by casual golfers while still providing plenty of challenge for more accomplished players.

Golf Surrounded by Southern Arizona Scenery
Part of what makes golf at Quail Creek special is the setting. Fairways and greens weave through the high Sonoran Desert landscape, with the Santa Rita Mountains providing a dramatic backdrop throughout much of the course.
The golf courses also create broad ribbons of green and open space throughout Quail Creek. Many homes are situated along the fairways or overlook golf course areas, and select properties combine golf views with views of the Santa Rita Mountains.
Even for residents who don’t golf, the course contributes significantly to the character of the community, providing open space, attractive landscaping, and long sightlines that help give Quail Creek its spacious resort atmosphere.
Practice Facilities and Pro Shop
Golfers looking to work on their game have convenient access to practice facilities near the Madera Clubhouse, including a driving range and putting green. The Quail Creek Pro Shop provides golf merchandise, apparel, equipment, and assistance with golf activities and tee times.
Having these facilities within the community makes it easy to practice for an hour, meet friends for a round, or make golf part of an active everyday lifestyle without having to leave Quail Creek.
The Quail Creek Golf Lifestyle
Like many amenities at Quail Creek, golf is about much more than the game itself. It is also an important part of the community’s social life.
Residents can participate in a variety of organized golf groups, including men’s and women’s associations, nine-hole and 18-hole groups, couples’ golf, Lady Putters, Desert Duffers, and Veterans’ Golf. These organizations provide opportunities for regular play, tournaments, friendly competition, and meeting other residents who share an interest in the game.
For someone moving to Quail Creek, joining a golf group can be one of the easiest ways to become involved in the community and develop new friendships.
While championship golf is one of Quail Creek’s signature amenities, residents don’t have to be golfers to appreciate what the courses bring to the community. The beautifully maintained fairways, mature landscaping, ponds, desert vegetation, and mountain vistas are an important part of Quail Creek’s overall setting.
Golf course homes are also among the community’s most distinctive properties, particularly those offering desirable combinations of fairway, mountain, water, or sunset views.
And when the round is over, the nearby Madera Clubhouse and Quail Creek Grill provide convenient places to meet friends, enjoy a meal or drink, and continue the social side of the Quail Creek golf experience.
For golfers considering an active adult community in Southern Arizona, having 27 holes of championship golf right outside your door is a significant advantage. Instead of planning an entire day around a round of golf, Quail Creek residents can make the game part of everyday life.
Whether you’re an experienced golfer, a casual player, or simply enjoy living amid the open spaces and mountain views created by the courses, golf remains an important part of what makes Quail Creek such a distinctive place to live.
Looking Ahead: Future Golf at Quail Creek
As Quail Creek continues to grow, additional golf is also part of the community’s long-range planning. A proposed new golf course is planned near Unit 39, currently in development south and west of the Canyon Club, potentially expanding the golf experience beyond Quail Creek’s existing 27 holes.
The proposed course would be another significant recreational and open-space feature as the community expands. While plans and timing are subject to change as the community continues to develop, the inclusion of additional golf in Quail Creek’s future planning reflects the important role the game has played in the community since its earliest years.
For current and prospective residents, the possibility of additional golf also demonstrates how Quail Creek continues to evolve while building upon the amenities that have helped make it one of Southern Arizona’s premier active adult communities.
